“Self – Muse”.
Self Muse give an artistic vision of a state or condition of the mind such a narcissism.
One of the most important things when it comes to understanding narcissism is to separate self-love from selfishness, when they are drastically different things.
Our society is heavily influenced by the beliefs that self love is often confused with vanity, pride and therefore becomes a sin.
Self love is also falling in love with one self attributes.
Defining self love as a deep devotion or affection for one self, love oneself above anything else.
Narcissism is often confused, this tendency relate a very vulnerable and personal characteristic of the artist, based on how much she struggled to hide and suppress an identity that has narcissistic tendencies in nature that marks an important period of her life, therefore causing her to disown and suppress her beauty. Therefore causing feelings of inferiority and non lovable experience, feeling selfless or unseen.
Adoring one’s own reflection, deriving gratification from admiring oneself is in fact healthy, help us thrive and evolve in become more integral with ourselves, our purpose and our true nature of being.
So, therefore she could overcome the separation between herself and her coping adaptational identity and step into her true nature of the self, dancing as one.
This painting also is a mirror to the ones to that struggle with narcissistic tendencies or narcissism in nature, but are extremely aware and sensitives about how they develop on their environment and their society, to offer an opportunity to recognize that is nothing wrong with being a person born with this tendencies and by holding deep compassion and acceptance for oneself we can create a safe environment where healing is totally possible.
